Also known as Black Walnut or American Walnut, this tree is native to the Eastern U.S. with the principal commercial region being located in the midwest and east central states.
Main uses include furniture, cabinets, architectural millwork, doors, flooring, paneling, and gun stocks. Walnut works easily with hand and machine tools, and nails, screws and glues well. It holds stain very well for an exceptional finish and is readily polished.
