From the Eastern U.S. and principally the Northern and Lake States. Birch is often times identified by the color of it’s bark. These birch species include White or Paper Birch, Yellow Birch, Black Birch, Red Birch, and other varieties. You’ll also find it further described in our auctions by a grain type like “curly”.
Birch lumber is primarily used in furniture, millwork and paneling, doors, flooring, kitchen cabinets, turnings and toys. The wood works fairly easily, glues well with care, takes stain extremely well, and nails and screws satisfactorily where pre-boring is advised.
